Who Am I?

“I try my best to give meaning to most of my pieces. Whether it’s an emotion, complex theme, or story, I enjoy the challenge of invoking thoughts and feeling in my work; I believe these small notions have a chance to make an impact, even if it’s just a smile.”

Artist’s Story

  • Introductions

    Good Morning!

My name is Ritz Raspa, also known as “Flipbitz” im an Italian concept artist/ Writer that seeks to challenge conventional storytelling in various forms of media.

I Have a passion for game design and mainly the characters that make up those amazing stories.

  • Early Years

For as long as I can remember, I've always had a pen in my hand. Admittedly, I once ruined a white wall with a red sharpie when I was only three, but the point is that I've always turned to drawing as a way to cope with the struggles of being a kid. I would draw whatever I was interested in at the time, whether it was FNAF or Undertale, and I would say that those games are what sparked my passion for art. Drawing these wonderful characters that I could only hope to know in my most vivid imaginations is what inspired me to continue drawing them, even though the quality of my drawings was lackluster.

  • Sketches and me

As I grew older, my love for art only grew stronger. During school, I often found myself doodling in the margins of my notebooks instead of paying attention to the teacher. I was more interested in perfecting my sketches than completing my homework. As a child, my ADHD was pretty bad, but art was one of the few things that could keep me still and quiet, much to the delight of my teachers.

  • The Pandemic

As Covid came around, many of us were quarantined while in high school. It was during this time that I found myself really struggling mentally, and seeing those around me struggle as well. After I had fought my own battles, I volunteered as a youth mental health counselor. Seeing glimpses into people's lives and their real struggles is what drives me today to create authentic characters with genuine problems. I strive for their design and story to reflect that.

  • What Now?

Throughout my journey, my passion for creating media remained constant. I went from wanting to create comics to making cartoon shows and movies, and finally settled on video games. When I look back, I realize that all the characters that I loved so much were created by people. Even today, it excites me to think that I could be the person creating memories for the kids and teens of tomorrow.

And now, I'm here. taking the next steps to hone my craft and make stories that last, and characters that matter.
